Mobile apps

An app is worth building when your customer or your staff needs something a website cannot do. Offline, a camera, push notifications, or a phone in a hand all day.

When an app is the right answer

It usually is when:

  • Staff work somewhere with no reliable signal

And need it to work anyway.

  • Camera, scanning or location

The job needs what the phone can do, and a browser tab cannot.

  • Push notifications

Messages that land on the home screen and get seen.

  • It is used many times a day

    Where every extra tap costs.

It usually is not when a mobile friendly website does the same job. We will tell you if that is the case. A website you can send by link beats an app nobody installs.

How we build

React Native, so one codebase serves iOS and Android. Cloud builds, so we are not waiting on hardware. Over the air updates, so fixes reach your users without going back through app store review each time.

The parts people forget

Shipping an app is more than building it. There is an Apple Developer account, a Google Play account, store listings, screenshots, privacy declarations, and review. Apple rejects first submissions for small reasons routinely. We handle that process and we tell you up front that store review sits outside our control.

If the app handles health, location or payment data, there are disclosure rules on both stores and under Australian privacy law. We deal with that at design time rather than at submission.

How we price it

Every build is different, so there is no list price. We work out what you need, then quote the whole job as a fixed number with a written scope. You will know the cost before anything starts, and it will not move unless you ask for something new. What it comes to depends on what you want it to do, so the first step is a conversation.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an app or is a mobile website enough?

A mobile website is enough more often than people expect. An app earns its place when you need it to work offline, use the camera or location, or send notifications people actually see. A link you can send beats an app nobody installs.

iOS and Android both, or one first?

We build with React Native, so one codebase serves both. There is rarely a reason to do one and then the other.

Who owns the Apple and Google accounts?

You do. They are in your business name, and we work inside them.

How long does app store review take?

It varies and it sits outside our control. Apple routinely rejects a first submission over something small. We handle the process and we tell you up front that the timing is theirs.
